After dominating the playoffs, FaZe Clan and Team Vitality have reached the Grand Final of the BLAST Premier: World Final 2023.

FaZe beat MOUZ to enter the Grand Final

FaZe Clan remains unbeaten at the World Finals, winning three consecutive matches to reach the finals of the event. Despite playing with new addition David “frozen” Čerňanský for the first time, FaZe appeared in excellent shape so far. The team first crushed Heroic 2-0 before winning a close match against G2 to top the Group Stage and secure a semifinal berth.

In the semifinals, FaZe faced MOUZ, the team that defeated Heroic 2-0 in the group stage. MOUZ picked Mirage to kick off the semifinals but the first half of the map remained neck-to-neck with the score tied 6-6 at halftime. While MOUZ made valiant efforts to take control of the map, FaZe’s Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard denied them all opportunity and helped his team secure the map 13-11.

In the second map Overpass, it was Ludvig ‘Brollan’ Brolin who stole the show with a 24-kill performance but it was not enough to grant MOUZ a victory. A combined effort from FaZe thwarted Brollan’s attempt to tie the scoreboard. While MOUZ put on a tough fight, the composed and coordinated play of FaZe helped them secure a 13-11 victory on Overpass and a ticket to the Grand Finals.

NAVI fell short against Vitality in the semifinals

Vitality kept the streak of good performance going at the World Finals, defeating the Ukrainian CS:GO powerhouse NAVI in the semifinals. With this victory, the French side enters the finals undefeated, having won all six maps they played during the event. They first crushed NAVI and Cloud9 2-0 in the Group Stage before entering the semifinal, which was a rematch against the Ukrainian side.

NAVI picked Anubis as the first map of the BO3 series but they faced heavy resistance from the French side early on. Falling behind 4-8 after the first half, FaZe tried to pull off a desperate comeback but they lost their composure against the French firepower as they secured a comfortable 13-5 win to take the lead early on.

NAVI tried to take things in control on Inferno with Aleksi ‘Aleksib’ Virolainen taking the charge. Even though the team managed to establish a 6-1 lead, Vitality retaliated with a 10-round win streak that helped them take the lead 11-6. Before NAVI could try anything else, Vitality quickly closed the map with a 13-9 victory and secured their place in the Grand Final against FaZe Clan, which will take place on Sunday, December 17.
