Following a week of speculation and rumors, Team Liquid officially announced the addition of the former Heroic In-Game Leader, Casper “cadiaN” Møller.

Just a few days after bringing back two-time Major-winning coach Wilton “zews” Prado as the head coach, Team Liquid has added another superstar to its lineup with the signing of Casper “cadiaN” Møller. Liquid CadiaN, who had been an integral part of the Danish team Heroic since 2020, mustered a 1.09 rating during his four-year stint.

In addition to being a skilled AWPer, the former Heroic player is also a remarkable IGL. He has demonstrated his leadership abilities at several elite tournaments, such as the ESL Pro League Season 13 and the BLAST Fall Final 2022 and Spring Final 2023. As the CS 2 era draws near with the 2024 season, the Danish IGL, who left Heroic last month because of internal conflicts, is now set to spearhead the revamped Team Liquid.

Can Liquid cadiaN bring Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike dominance back to life?

Despite signing the Latvian CS:GO prodigy, Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis for the 2023 season, Liquid’s performance remained subpar throughout the year. The organization made major changes mid-season, acquiring Rainwaker and Patsi from 500 and Team Spirit, respectively.

Despite the new additions, the team failed to win any major trophy this year and was bombed out early from almost all the top-tier events except for a few. The team’s best performance came at the Paris Major 2023 and Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2023, where they secured 5th-6th and 3rd place, respectively.

As a result of Liquid’s average performance, the organization decided to restructure its roster, assembling a roster around Keith “NAF” Markovic and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Galinskis. To make room for new additions, the organization cut ties with AWper Josh “oSee” Ohm’,  Rainwaker, and Patsi alongside head coach, Damian “daps” Steele, who returned to a position as a player for the new NRG roster.

Earlier, this week Liquid signed former paiN Gaming player Felipe “skullz” Medeiros alongside the two-time Major-winning coach zews. Now with the addition of the star Danish IGl cadiaN, only one last spot left on Liquid’s CS 2 roster for 2024.

As for the last spot, it is reported that Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken will fill it, according to the same report that first hinted about the signings of CadiaN and zews. The Canadian Rifler was recently released by FaZe Clan but his arrival on Liquid has not been official yet. Nonetheless, if the reports are accurate, which is more likely after cadiaN’s signing, Liquid will make Twistzz’s signing official in the upcoming weeks. The new Liquid roster will debut with Liquid CadiaN at the BLAST Premier: Spring Groups in January 2024.
